When gambling was allowed in New Jersey, they started to develop casinos and resort areas since then. In 1987, Supreme Court produced a verdict that was favorable for the Native American tribes. The American tribes there have built their own casinos for their source of revenue. Since the tribes are considered as foreign nations, they are exempted from the laws of gambling.
